• His second European Tour International Schedule victory in his 85th European Tour event

• His second European Tour victory of the 2010 season, following The Barclays Scottish Open

• Seventh player to record multiple victories on the 2010 European Tour International Schedule. They are: Charl Schwartzel (Africa Open and Joburg Open), Martin Kaymer (Abu Dhabi Golf Championship and US PGA Championship), Louis Oosthuizen (Open de Andalucia de Golf and The Open Championship), Graeme McDowell (The Celtic Manor Wales Open and US Open Championship) and Miguel Angel Jiménez (Omega Dubai Desert Classic and Alstom Open de France), Peter Hanson (Iberdrola Open Cala Millor Mallorca and Czech Open 2010) and Edoardo Molinari (The Barclays Scottish Open and Johnnie Walker Championship at Gleneagles)

• First player to win two European Tour events in Scotland in the same season

• Both of his European Tour wins have come when playing with brother Francesco in the final match on the final day

• Although unable to qualify for The European Ryder Cup Team, finishes with 1542827; the highest number of points won by a player not to qualify for the Team

• Finished in fifth place in The Ryder Cup World Points List with 248.41; just 0.94 behind Graeme McDowell in fourth; again the highest number of points from this list not to qualify

• The fourth European Tour victory by a 2009 European Challenge Tour. They are: Rhys Davies (Trophée Hassan II), James Morrison (Madeira Islands Open BPI – Portugal),  Edoardo Molinari (The Barclays Scottish Open and Johnnie Walker Championship)

• Joins Stephen Leaney (1998 Moroccan Open and TNT Dutch Open) as only the second player to win twice on The European Tour the year after graduation from the Challenge Tour

• The 13th Italian victory  in European Tour history

• The third Italian to win twice in the same European Tour season, following Baldovino Dassu (1976) and Costantino Rocca (1993)

• Second Italian to win the Johnnie Walker Championship at Gleneagles, following Emanuele Canonica in 2005
