• His third European Tour International Schedule victory in his 195th European Tour event.
• Moves to 1,423,370 points in the Race to Dubai.
• Could move into the top 25 of the Official World Golf Ranking, from 54th.
• His first European Tour victory since the 2015 Lyoness Open powered by Greenfinity.
• His second consecutive European Tour season with a victory. This is the first time during his career he has achieved this feat.
• Has now won a European Tour event in three of the last four seasons. His first title was the 2013 Commercial Bank Qatar Masters.
• This victory beats his previous best 2016 European Tour performance of third in the Nedbank Golf Challenge.
• Victory comes in his seventh appearance in the BMW PGA Championship.
• This victory beats his previous best finish in the BMW PGA Championship of fourth in 2015. Was also tied sixth on his debut in 2010.

• Since the event became part of the European Tour in 1972 this becomes the first time that there have been four consecutive winners in their 20s.

• The fourth English victory of the 2016 season. They are: Danny Willett (Omega Dubai Desert Classic and Masters Tournament), Andrew Johnston (Real Club Valderrama Open de España hosted by the Sergio Garcia Foundation) and Chris Wood (BMW PGA Championship).
• Becomes the 305th English victory in European Tour history.
• Gains a European Tour exemption until the end of the 2021 season.
• Gains a three year exemption into The Open Championship.
• Gains his largest European Tour prize of €833,330.
• Moves past €7 million in European Tour Official Career Earnings.
• The second of his three European Tour titles where he has made up a final round deficit. Made up five to win the 2015 Lyoness Open presented by Grenfinity and three to win the 2016 BMW PGA Championship.
• Made up eight shots after 36 holes. This is the largest final 36 hole deficit made up by a winner this season, beating the six shots by Marcus Fraser at the Maybank Championship Malaysia.
• The largest final 36 hole deficit made up by a winner on the European Tour since Anirban Lahiri’s nine shots at the 2015 Maybank Malaysian Open.
• His eight shot final 36 hole deficit is the third largest made up by a winner in the history of the BMW PGA Championship. Peter Butler made up ten in 1963 and Tony Jacklin nine in 1972.
• At 6ft 6in is the tallest person to win the BMW PGA Championship. The previous tallest was Peter Oosterhuis, winner in 1973, who was 6ft 4in.
• Moves to 2,374,680 in the European Ryder Cup Points Table.
• Gains his third victory as a professional.
