• His first European Tour victory since the Alfred Dunhill Championship at the beginning of the 2013 European Tour season.
• Makes a successful defence of his title he won 12 months ago at Leopard Creek.
• His third victory in the Alfred Dunhill Championship, following his triumphs in 2005 and 2013 season.
• Becomes the first player to win the Alfred Dunhill Championship on three occasions.
• His third victory comes in his 11th appearance in the event.

• Becomes only the second South African to win the same official European Tour event on three occasions. Ernie Els was the first when he won the Dubai Desert Classic (1994, 2002 and 2005), Heineken Classic (2002, 2003 and 2004) and South African Open Championship (1998, 2007 and 2011).
• First player to make a successful defence of a European Tour title since Luke Donald at the BMW PGA Championship in 2011-2012.

• Is the second European Tour event he has made a successful defence in. The first was the Joburg Open in 2010-2011.
• Becomes the first South African to make a successful defence of two different European Tour events.
• Becomes the seventh different player in European Tour history to make a successful defence of two or more different European Tour events. He follows: Seve Ballesteros, Sir Nick Faldo, Mark James, Colin Montgomerie, Tiger Woods and Ian Woosnam.

• Is the 16th South African victory on The European Tour since the start of the 2012 European Tour season.
• This victory extends South Africa’s sequence of consecutive winning years on The European Tour to 24, dating back to the 1991 season.
