• His first European Tour International Schedule victory in his 61st official European Tour event.

• Could move into the top 20 of the Official World Golf Ranking from 23rd.

• This victory beats his previous best European Tour performances of tied third at the 2008 Masters Tournament and 2012 Open Championship.

• The 12th first-time winner of the season. They are: They are Nathan Holman (Australian PGA Championship), Marc Leishman (Nedbank Golf Challenge), Brandon Stone (BMW SA Open hosted by City of Ekurhuleni), Haydn Porteous (Joburg Open), Andrew Johnston (Real Club Valderrama Open de España hosted by the Sergio Garcia Foundation), Soomin Lee (Shenzhen International), Li Haotong (Volvo China Open), Jeunghun Wang (Trophée Hassan II), Chan Shih-chang (King’s Cup presented by PTT Group), Jimmy Walker (US PGA Championship), Paul Peterson (D+D REAL Czech Masters) and Brandt Snedeker (Fiji International).

• This victory beats his previous best 2016 European Tour performance of tied ninth in the WGC – Dell Match Play. (His previous best 2016 European Tour stroke play finish was tied tenth at the Masters Tournament).

• Becomes the second consecutive American to win the Fiji International, following his Ryder Cup team-mate Matt Kuchar in 2015.

• His first victory outside the American continent.

His nine shot winning margin is the biggest of the 2016 European Tour. This beats the eight stroke victory by Charl Schwartzel at the Tshwane Open.

• Led by three shots going into the final round. Becomes the 22nd winner this season to lead with 18 holes to play. (Is the second time he has led a European Tour event going into the final round. The first was the 2013 Masters Tournament).

• The first non-member to win on the European Tour since fellow American Jimmy Walker won the 2016 US PGA Championship.

• The first American to win on the European Tour since Paul Peterson won the 2016 D+D REAL Czech Masters.

• Becomes the fifth American victory of the 2016 European Tour season. They are: Rickie Fowler (Abu Dhabi HSBC Golf Championship), Dustin Johnson (US Open), Jimmy Walker (US PGA Championship), Paul Peterson (D+D REAL Czech Masters) and Brandt Snedeker (Fiji International).

• Becomes the 208th American victory in European Tour history.

• Becomes the 89th different American to win in European Tour history.

• Gains a European Tour exemption until the end of the 2017 season, should he take up European Tour membership.

• Gains his second victory of 2016 following the Farmers Insurance Open on the US PGA Tour.

• His 11th victory as a professional.
