• His second European Tour International Schedule victory in his 90th European Tour event.

• Moves to 491,947 points in The Race to Dubai.

• Moved to inside the top 60 of the Official World Golf Ranking, from 73rd.

• Was the highest ranked player in the field this week.

• His second victory of the 2015 European Tour season, following the South African Open Championship hosted by the City of Ekurhuleni.

• Becomes the third multiple winner of the 2015 European Tour season. They are: Branden Grace (Alfred Dunhill Championship and Commercial Bank Qatar Masters), Anirban Lahiri (Maybank Malaysian Open and Hero Indian Open) and Andy Sullivan (South African Open Championship hosted by the City of Ekurhuleni and Joburg Open).

• Played his first 83 European Tour events without a win. Then won two of his last seven tournaments.

• Becomes the first Englishman to win the Joburg Open. (Was also the first Englishman to win the South African Open Championship since the event became part of The European Tour in 1997).

• Becomes the first Englishman to win two European Tour events co-sanctioned with the Sunshine Tour.

• Now won both his European Tour events in Johannesburg this season. Won the South African Open Championship hosted by the City of Ekurhuleni at Glendower Golf Club and the Joburg Open at the Royal Johannesburg and Kensington Golf Club.

• Second player this season to win their first two European Tour events in the same season, following Anirban Lahiri (Maybank Malaysian Open, Hero Indian Open).

• The first player to win their first two European Tour events in South Africa since Dawie Van der Walt. He won the 2013 Tshwane Open and 2014 Nelson Mandela Championship presented by ISPS Handa.

Became the first player to win his first two European Tour events in the same city, but in two different events. (Won the South African Open Championship in Johannesburg also).

• Becomes the 293rd English victory in European Tour history.

• Becomes the third English victory on the 2015 season. They are Danny Willett (Nedbank Golf Challenge) and Andy Sullivan (South African Open Championship hosted by the City of Ekurhuleni and Joburg Open).

• Becomes the first European to win two European Tour events co-sanctioned with the Sunshine Tour and both in the same season.

• Victory comes in his fourth appearance in the Joburg Open.

• This victory beats his previous best performance in the Joburg Open of tied fifth in 2014.

• Began the day three behind the overnight leader, Wallie Coetsee. Is the seventh winner this season to make up a final round deficit to win from the ten events to date. (Made up seven shots on the final day at the South African Open Championship hosted by the City of Ekurhuleni).

• Gains a place in The Open Championship as one of the three leading players not otherwise exempt.

• Gains his second professional win.
