Win a trip to Estonia with the March Shot of the Month Competition

Europeantour.com is offering a fantastic golf break at Estonian Golf & Country Club for the March Shot of the Month competition, where the winning shot is chosen by you, the fans.

March Shot of the Month Competition

We have selected three great contenders for the March Shot of the Month, and one lucky winner who picks the winning shot, as voted for by you, will win a sensational two-night stay in a golf villa at Estonian Golf & Country Club with unlimited golf on both the Stone and Sea Courses during your stay.

Estonian Golf & Country Club is a European Tour Course and the official venue of the Omega Mission Hills World Cup European Qualifier in 2009 and 2011. Regarded as Estonia’s finest golfing venue, it has now taken its rightful place in Golf World Magazine’s prestigious Top 100 European Courses, a spectacular achievement for a venue in an emerging golf nation.

The club boasts not only the beautiful 18-hole Sea Course with its spectacular sea views and signature par four 13th, but also the historic 9-hole Stone Course, which meanders through impressive rock formations and gigantic stones from the ice age.  With two courses, a contemporary clubhouse with spectacular panoramic views and location just 25 minutes from the capital Tallinn, the Cultural Capital of Europe in 2011 (www.tallinn2011.ee/eng), Estonian Golf & Country Club has plenty to offer.

The two courses are of very different character. The Stone Course is a links-type course with no water while the Sea Course is a real championship course, with wind, water and rough all a factor. The Sea Course was named within the Golf World TOP100 Continental Europe courses in 2009. The club is ideally situated near Tallinn and can be accessed easily from all major cities in Europe with many airlines operating including easyJet, Ryanair, Lufthansa, SAS, Finnair, Estonian Air and others. The prize includes transfer to and from the airport or harbour. The winner will need to arrange their own flights.

The three contenders for the March Shot of the Month competition come from Raphaël Jacquelin in the Sicilian Open, Kenneth Ferrie in the Open de Andalucia de Golf by Turkish Airlines, and David Horsey in the Trophée Hassan II.

Shot A – Raphaël Jacquelin – Sicilian Open – Day 4 – Hole 5 – 2nd Shot

Locked in a tight battle with Anthony Wall, Jacquelin struck a beautiful approach to the fifth hole during the final round of the Sicilian Open at Donnafugata Golf Resort & SPA. The ball nestled just inches from the cup to set up a birdie which helped propel the Frenchman to his third European Tour title.

Shot B – Kennie Ferrie – Open de Andalucia de Golf by Turkish Airlines – Day 3 – Hole 18 – 2nd shot

Kenneth Ferrie was enjoying the round of his life on day three of the Open de Andalucia de Golf by Turkish Airlines and needed to hole his second shot on the last for the first 59 on The European Tour. But after pushing his tee shot right into the trees, the odds were even more heavily stacked against him until he played a brilliant six iron and came within a whisker of making history.

Shot C – David Horsey – Trophee Hassan II, Day 4 - Hole 2 – Hole-in-One

David Horsey set out in the final round of the Trophée Hassan II tied for the lead and what a start he made. A birdie at the first was followed by a hole-in-one on the second, the perfect five iron from 182 yards. In an instant he was three clear and although he was pegged back to finish tied with defending champion Rhys Davies and Jaco Van Zyl, Horsey prevailed in the play-off to win his second European Tour title.
