The three contenders for the April Shot of the Month come from Matteo Manassero in the Maybank Malaysian Open, Nicolas Colsaerts in the Volvo China Open and Lee Westwood in the Ballantine’s Championship.

Shot A is Manassero’s breathtaking eagle on the final day of the Maybank Malaysian Open. With Frenchman Grégory Bourdy closing in, the young Italian produced a shot of brilliance, holing his third on the par five tenth to set up his second win, just two days before his 18th birthday. His first two wins have both beaten the previous record for the youngest winner in European Tour history.

Shot B comes from Nicolas Colsaerts on the final day of the Volvo China Open. The Belgian started the day with a narrow lead but played some spectacular golf to win by four. His approach shot at the 14th hole was the pick of the bunch and led to his fifth birdie of the day.

Our third selection, Shot C, came from the World Number One, Lee Westwood. Hot off his win in Indonesia and a return to the summit of world golf, Westwood surged up the leaderboard with a birdie, birdie start to the third round, almost holing out for eagle on the second, before going on to  win the title and consolidate his position as the world’s best golfer.

The previous winners of the 2011 Shot of the Month competition were Paul Casey (January), Alvaro Quiros (February) and David Horsey (March). The winners of the Shot of the Month competition will be put forward to The European Tour Shot of the Year.
