American Allen started the day with a five shot lead, but dropped two shots in his last three holes en route to a two over 72 at Omaha Country Club.

That left the former Senior US PGA Championship winner eight under for the week and two ahead of compatriots Kenny Perry and Fred Funk.

Former US Ryder Cup Captain Corey Pavin is a shot further back on four under, with Williams part of a ten-man group tied for sixth on two under that also includes former Major Champions Mark O’Meara and Tom Lehman.

Germany’s Bernhard Langer fought his way back to level par for the tournament with a 68, while Scot Colin Montgomerie slipped back to four over on his Senior Major debut after a 72.
