Willett will take on American Gary Woodland in the last four, with McIlroy or Casey taking on Jim Furyk after 21 holes failed to separate the pair.

McIlroy and Casey face an early return to TPC Harding Park after darkness forced play to be suspended on Saturday, with three extra holes still not producing a winner.

Willett faces Woodland after the American defeated Australian pair Marc Leishman and John Senden.

“I swung it really well,” said Willett after securing a 4 and 3 margin over Fleetwood. “I hit some good golf shots, putted nicely. It was a good, solid match.
