Danny Willett is looking forward to facing compatriot Lee Westwood in the last 16 of the WGC – Cadillac Match Play after completing a perfect record in Group 15 with a one up victory over Andy Sullivan.

Willett topped his group after overcoming Americans Ryan Moore and Patrick Reed, with a birdie from eight feet on the 16th proving decisive against fellow Englishman Sullivan.

Westwood won his crucial clash with World Number Two Jordan Spieth, and Willett is looking forward to testing his match play credentials against the former World Number One.

“The last two days I played solid golf and again today,” said Willett. “You never feel comfortable out here until you've taken your round with a win.

“You just know you're going to see a lot of good quality golf shots - that's been Lee's game for many, many years.

“Obviously I've gotten to know him over the last few years. We have a laugh about it, he's 42, my stepmother in law is not far off the same age.

“You know that he's going to come out and be playing some good golf, but I also feel like if you can put some pressure on him there.

“As you've seen through this week, there's been a few upsets and good golf being played and average golf being played.

“It's not like anyone is going to give you easy matches – it’s the top 64 guys in the world, and you've got to come at it with your A game and hope that they're not quite on.

“Every match from the start of the week was tough, and especially from now on in.”
