Willett will be participating in his 11th Omega European Masters tournament having previously won in the event in 2015. Undoubtedly the biggest win of his career came at the 2016 Masters tournament in which he won the green jacket by three strokes ahead of defending champion Jordan Spieth and Lee Westwood. Willett finished in second place on the Race to Dubai Rankings in 2016, exactly the same as the year before.

Willett was the tournament host at this year's Betfred British Masters hosted by Danny Willett, and he promised to give away £1,000 to charity for every birdie that he made at the tournament, in which he posted 19 of them. With a total of seven European Tour titles to his name, the Englishman will be keen to add another at the Omega European Masters.

The most successful golfer in Austrian history, Bernd Wiesberger will be looking to use his experience of winning on Tour to full effect as he stars in this year’s Omega European Masters. The 35-year-old finished a respectable third position on the Race to Dubai Rankings in 2019 after being triumphant in three separate tournaments including the Scottish Open and the Italian Open.

Looking to improve on his sixth-place finish in the 2012 Omega European Masters he will be going into the tournament full of confidence after recording wins to his 2021 schedule already; coming out on top in style at the Made in HimmerLand presented by FREJA in May after cruising to a five-shot win in Denmark. The eight-time European Tour winner also finished in fifth place at the BMW International Open, increasing his chances of being selected for the European Ryder Cup team in 2021.

The impressive Crans-sur-Sierre Golf Club named after its creator and legendary Severiano Ballesteros will welcome Danny Willett and Bernd Wiesberger at the end of the month along with players including Miguel Ángel Jiménez and Henrik Stenson.

Tickets are still on sale for the Omega European Masters and will close on August 13.
