Westwood set for return to Bro Hoff Slot

Lee Westwood will return to Bro Hoff Slot Golf Club when the Englishman plays the Nordea Masters for the first time since winning at the same venue in 2012, his third victory at the Swedish event.

The nine-time Ryder Cup player has a spectacular record in the historic event, which was first played in 1991 when Colin Montgomerie emerged victorious.

His five shot triumph over compatriot Ross Fisher in Stockholm four years ago marked his 22nd European Tour victory and his latest on European soil – his last win came at the 2014 Maybank Malaysian Open.

After a joint runner-up finish at the Masters Tournament in April, however, the 43 year old will surely be confident of adding to that haul upon his return the picturesque European Tour destination.

He said: “I’m really looking forward to playing at the Nordea Masters again. It’s 20 years since my first win and it’s a tournament I’ve always enjoyed playing it.

“The fans in Sweden are brilliant in that they are very knowledgeable, but also create a brilliant atmosphere. I’ve got fond memories of Bro Hof Slott after my win there last time. But as well as that I’ve always thought every inch of the course has been in perfect condition every time I’ve been. It will be a great week.”

The Nordea Masters returns to Bro Hof Slott Golf Course after a two year stint at the PGA Sweden National in Malmӧ.

Bro Hof previously hosted the event from 2010 until 2013, enjoying great support from fans from the Swedish capital.
