Wang looking to find form in Morocco

Jeunghun Wang is hoping to rediscover his early season form when he returns to defend his Trophée Hassan II title at Royal Golf Dar Es Salam this week.

The South Korean burst onto the scene in Morocco last season, winning his maiden title and then following it up with another victory at the AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open the following week.

He began 2017 in sparkling style with a win at the Commercial Bank Qatar Masters but has made the weekend just once in five events since.

He returns to a happy hunting ground when he tees it up on Thursday, however,  and is hopeful he can take inspiration and challenge again.

"I love to play this golf course so I hope I enjoy this week," he said. "I am so happy to come back to Morocco and this golf course.

"I had a great year last year but this year has not really been good because I played big tournaments in the States but I am so happy to come here and I'm good to play."

Testing wet conditions meant Wang finished at five under before beating Nacho Elvira in a play-off last season - the first time the event had been won in single figures under par since joining the European Tour in 2010 - and the 21 year old is expecting a tough test again.

"Last year was really tough conditions but I think this year is also going to be tough because the course is tight and long," he said. "If I play my own game I have a chance to win again.

"I was really lucky and I hope luck will come to me this year too."
