Matt Wallace opened up a two-shot lead heading into the back nine in the final round of the Hero Indian Open.
The Englishman entered the day at DLF Golf and Country Club in a share of top spot and turned in 32 to get to 11 under and lead the way from countryman Andrew Johnston.
Wallace knows how to get over the line, winning six times - including five in a row - on the Alps Tour in 2016 and claiming victory at the Open de Portugal at Morgado Golf Resort in just his fourth European Tour event last season.
Scot Stephen Gallacher was at eight under alongside American Sihwan Kim and Spaniard Pablo Larrazábal.
Race to Dubai Rankings presented by Rolex leader Shubhankar Sharma started the day alongside Wallace but he turned in 37 to sit five off the lead as he searches for a home victory.
Larrazábal had dropped three shots in his final three holes on Saturday but began to make amends with a birdie on the first, while Kim also made an early move with a gain on the second after a smart approach.
Johnston then birdied the second from six feet to get within one of the lead but he was not there for long as both Sharma and Wallace - from 25 feet - also made gains on the par four to get to eight under.
Gallacher was the only member of the final group to make any progress on the par three third and his very long birdie putt moved him back to where he started the day - within one of the lead.
Every player in the top six birdied the par five fourth but Sharma got in big trouble on the next, finding water off the tee for a double-bogey and Wallace led on his own.
Larrazábal almost found the water on the sixth but made the most of his reprieve to hit a stunning approach and make a birdie, saving par on the next after a poor tee-shot.
Playing partner Kim went one better, hitting an excellent approach to join the group at seven under and that group was soon in a share of second.
Gallacher avoided the water on the sixth but could only play out to the fairway from the rough and his bogey handed Wallace a two-shot lead.
A brilliant 30-foot putt on the seventh had Wallace into double figures and three ahead but Gallacher followed him in from ten feet to cut the gap back to two.
Sharma had to play out of some nasty stuff after finding trouble off the tee and when he failed to get up and down from the back of the green, he made a double-bogey.
Larrazábal was making a good move and he got up and down from the front of the eighth to birdie the par five for the fourth time this week and get to eight under.
In the group behind, Johnston played the hole in almost identical fashion and he joined that group two off the lead.
Kim was the next to get to eight under with a birdie from ten feet on the ninth but back on the eighth Wallace made a gain from similar range to lead by three.
Johnston attacked the driveable ninth off the tee and while his first shot was not the best, he got up and down to make a gain and sit alone in second.
Sharma drove the ninth green but left his eagle putt short and had to settle for a birdie.
Matthias Schwab was at five under, a shot clear of Emiliano Grillo.
