Anthony Wall and Zander Lomabard sat at the top of a congested leaderboard in the early stages of the final round of the Joburg Open.
Both men picked up a single shot in their first three holes to sit at 16 under, a shot clear of Haydn Porteous and Björn Åkesson and two ahead of Daniel Im.
While Wall is seeking a second European Tour victory 16 years after his first, all his closest rivals are looking to win a first title on The European Tour.
There are also three places at The Open Championship up for grabs for the top three non-exempt players in the top ten, who are likely to be the top three with the closest exempt players six shots off the lead.
Wall got off to an excellent start as he put his third shot on the par five first to within six feet and holed out for birdie with playing partner Im also making a gain.
Both men then hit close tee shots into the 251 yard par three second but saw their putts lip out as Lombard and Porteous both parred the first with the latter making hard work of it after going left off the tee.
When Lombard put his tee shot left of the green on the second it looked like a shaky start was in the offing but the 20 year old holed his chip brilliantly to join Wall with Porteous making his par.
Challenge Tour graduate Åkesson was making one of the big moves of the morning and an impressive bunker shot handed him a birdie at the sixth to add to gains at the first and second to move him to 14 under.
Another birdie at the seventh then moved him into a share of second place after Lombard and Porteous both parred the third.
Fellow Swede Johan Carlsson was also on his way up the leaderboard and birdies on the first, fifth, sixth and eighth moved him into the group at 13 under alongside Ross McGowan and Jacques Blaauw who parred their first four holes.
Two-time champion Richard Sterne was then at 12 under after turning in 33 courtesy of birdies at the first, fourth, fifth and sixth, alongside fellow South Africans Alex Haindl and Jean Hugo and Zimbabwean Mark Williams.
A 63 on Saturday had seen Paul Dunne surge up the leaderboard but the Irishman dropped shots on the third, after a wild tee shot, and fourth to sit at 11 under with the South African duo of Steven Ferreira and Justin Walters.
