US PGA Championship day three - What they said

Kevin Kisner will take a one-shot lead into the final round of the US PGA Championship after firing a battling 72 on Saturday at Quail Hollow Club.

Hideki Matsuyama

Here, we take a look at what some of the chasing pack had to say after day three.

Hideki Matsuyama (73, -6)

"I'm disappointed the way I played today, however, I'm happy to just be one stroke back and still have a chance and looking forward to tomorrow. Probably the pressure had something to do with it, being in the last group of a Major tournament. But I haven't been spot on all week and the worries that I had about my swing showed up today in the way I played."

Chris Stroud (71, -6)

"I've dreamed about this for years, so it's in there. I know all these guys are going to be super nervous, I'm sure I will be too. But last week just gave me an unbelievable sense of calm. I've never felt so relaxed on the golf course and I think it's a lot of the reason why I'm playing so well. I'm relaxed on the greens, I'm relaxed off the tee. So I'm going to use that to my advantage tomorrow."

Louis Oosthuizen (71, -5)

"It's the type of golf course you don't have to go out and make birdies, you just need to keep everything together. If I can have a solid start tomorrow and get to the 14th hole and see where I am, anything can happen from 14. Just be patient the whole day tomorrow. I think everyone is going to make a few mistakes out there, it's that type of golf course where you can easily make bogeys. Just patience and play yourself in a position with four or five holes to go and take it from there. The arm feels fine. It's a little tight at the top. I will have some good work on it, ice it a bit. I didn't have any pain playing."

Justin Thomas (69, -5)

"I don't like to think that I stole one, I like to think that I'm mature now and I can manage an under par round when I don't have my best stuff. I think that's why I feel like I'm ready to win a Major Championship now versus last year, I probably didn't have that. Because you are going to have a day, usually at least a day in the tournament where you don't have your best. You are not hitting it well, it's what you can do with it. That's what Tiger did so well, he won tournaments by five or six with his B game or C game. It's about managing it around here, trying to get it around. What I did today was definitely a confidence boost. It's not the same as playing great, I'm definitely more tired than if I would have played great. I will definitely take it."
