Thailand’s greatest ever golfer, Thongchai Jaidee, his compatriots Kiradech Aphibarnrat and Gunn Charoenkul, defending champion Andrew Dodt and Johan Edfors visited the Rajabhakti Park to pay their respects to the seven magnificent statues of former Thai Kings.

The historically themed park honours past Thai kings from the Sukhothai period to the current royal house of Chakri, and the players paid their respects and presented friendship garlands before posing for pictures with the True Thailand Classic presented by Chang trophy.

Dodt, who won the inaugural title last year, was hugely impressed by the park. He said: “It was very cool to come along and see the statues of the Kings and to be able to gain a little bit of knowledge about Thai history. I was asking Kiradech about the park and he knew all about it and gave me a little history lesson.

“It’s always good to come and do these things to try and promote our tournament and our sport. Golf is growing all the time in Thailand and it is great to be a part of it.”
