The third event of the desert swing is another big week for the European Tour Fantasy Race with the world’s top two involved in the Commercialbak Qatar Masters presented by Dolphin Energy.
Once again will give you some top tips to help you pick your team as you can make up to five substitutions before play begins on Thursday.
If you haven’t entered a team yet, you can enter again this week before Thursday and there are plenty of good reasons to join the fun with so much of the season still to play, particularly with a prize of a five night stay at Atlantis, The Palm, Dubai, and golf at Jumeirah Golf Estates plus loads of Titleist equipment up for grabs not to mention the weekly and monthly prizes.
But first congratulations to heydiddle, whose team of 15 golfers gained 962,001 euros in prize money to top the weekly leaderboard from the Volvo Golf Champions and will receive prize of a European Tour shoe bag and pitch repair kit.
Heydiddle’s team included all the top five, as well as Johan Edfors, who finished in a two-way tie for sixth.
Meanwhile, Bernetza became the new overall leader and also picked up the first monthly prize of an exclusive European Tour branded holdall and wash bag by earning the most prize money in the last two events combined.
The field this week contains the World Number One and Two, Lee Westwood and Martin Kaymer, among four players from the world’s top ten and eight from the top 20. Traditionally Doha Golf Club has been a course to suit the long hitters with the last six winners being Robert Karlsson, Alvaro Quiros, Retief Goosen, Adam Scott, Henrik Stenson and Ernie Els, none of which are short of a yard or two.
Indeed Stenson has arguably the greatest record in the Commercialbank Qatar Masters with one win and three seconds.
