World Number One Donald and his compatriot and closest challenger Westwood will begin their quest for a maiden Major title at 8.06am on Thursday morning alongside Kaymer, who will be hoping to add the US Open Championship to his US PGA Championship victory last year.

At 7am Shane Lowry, who came through the qualifying round last month, will be in the first group out at Congressional Country Club in Bethesda, America, while his fellow Irishman Graeme McDowell will launch his title defence at 7.55am in the company of reigning Open Champion Louis Oosthuizen of South Africa.

Oosthuizen’s compatriots Trevor Immelman and Charl Schwartzel will tee up in the company of their fellow Masters Tournament winner Zach Johnson at 1.46pm, with Northern Irishman Rory McIlroy and the American duo of Dustin Johnson and four-time Major winner Phil Mickelson out in the group before at 1.35pm from the tenth tee.

At the same time on the first tee, the all-Italian trio of Matteo Manassero and the Molinari brothers, Edoardo and Francesco, will embark on their search for a first victory in a Major.

The group ahead is an all-Spanish affair, with the three amigos Sergio Garcia, Miguel Angel Jiménez and Alvaro Quiros beginning their challenge at 1.24pm.
