The new Titleist ‘truck’ (as it is affectionately known by players and caddies) is an incredible, custom-built vehicle with a 40-tonne capacity, which service up to 25 European Tour events over the course of a season, providing around 65% of the field on any given week with golf balls and gloves.

As soon as you step inside the Titleist Tour Support Vehicle, you are transported to a state of the art facility, with the front section serving as a hospitality area where players can come to relax in comfort, get a cold/hot drink and chat with Titleist’s expert staff about their equipment needs.

The new vehicle is more comfortable and a more effective working environment with improved seating areas, work stations and two built-in screens on which Titleist and FJ players’ can place orders for new equipment and where the Titleist team can display product information or display congratulations to tournament winners. Also, in this section is where the treasure trove of golf balls, gloves, caps, outerwear and other accessories are stored.

The Titleist Tour Support Vehicle also houses a new, state-of-the-art workshop which, run by three or four expert technicians, services any Titleist players’ specific equipment needs, from new club fittings to tweaking their existing equipment to each individuals’ specific requirements.

The planning phase for new truck began over a year ago, both internally and with WHF, the custom truck-builders based in Pocklington, England, and construction started last December.

Jonathan Loosemore, Titleist’s Director of Leadership Promotion, said: “It was very exciting for us to unveil the new Titleist Tour Support Vehicle at this week's Aberdeen Asset Management Paul Lawrie Match Play at Archerfield.

“For some months, project manager Neil Davies has worked tirelessly together with driver/technician Ian Martin, and Leadership Promotion Managers Karl Arthur and Guy Smith to see this impressive project through to its completion. To see the fruits of their hard work at Archerfield was so rewarding for all concerned. It is a very impressive piece of equipment and the team at WHF did a terrific job to bring the team's design concepts to life.

“The new vehicle was very well-received by all the Titleist players who will benefit from the improved working space and the enhanced services we will be able to offer them. We were delighted to welcome so many of them to see the new vehicle at Archerfield and, given our long-standing partnership with the European Tour, we were pleased to have Tournament Director Mike Stewart join the group for a first look.”
