Tight at the top in Rabat

Alexander Levy and Austin Connelly moved into a share of the lead as the final round of the Trophée Hassan II got under way at Royal Golf Dar Es Salam.

The Frenchman will defend his Volvo China Open title next week and he could be heading east with a fifth European Tour crown but it was a packed leaderboard in Rabat.

Canadian Connelly picked up two shots in his first four holes to also sit at seven under, a shot clear of overnight leader Alvaro Quiros, Swede Joakim Lagergren and South African Erik van Rooyen.

Christiaan Bezuidenhout, Alexander Björk, Mikko Ilonen, Andy Sullivan and 2016 champion Jeunghun Wang were then at five under.

Björk made a birdie-birdie start and when playing partner Connelly also birdied the second, there were six players within a shot of the lead.

Björk's birdie run ended with a bogey on the third but Connelly made it back-to-back gains to join Quiros at the summit and when the 35 year old bogeyed the second, the rookie led on his own.

Levy then made his first birdie of the day on the third and moved into a share of top spot.

Ilonen and Bezuidenhout both bogeyed the third to drop alongside Björk and Sullivan, who was making a move with birdies on the second and fifth.

Lagergren had a birdie on the first and a bogey on the fourth but an eagle on the fifth catapulted him up the leaderboard, with Wang bouncing back from a bogey on the second with a birdie on the fourth.

Van Rooyen began his round with four pars.

Andrew Dodt and Joost Luiten were then at four under.
