The PGA Championship on Social Media

As players prepare for the final Major of the year, social media is abuzz with anticipation. Baltusrol Golf Club is hosting this year's PGA Championship and the world's best golfers have been making their way to New Jersey over the last few days. Here's a look at the best social media around the #PGAChamp.

One of the first players to arrive in the New York area was Masters champion Danny Willett. And when you're staying in hotel like this, overlooking Central Park, you are obviously going to share a photo on social media.

Willett was also invited to a New York Yankees game, where he was asked to throw the ceremonial first pitch. Danny, his wife Nicole and son Zachariah, were all dressed in pin stripes for the occasion.

You're probably wondering how his technique was right? Well, luckily Danny's management team were on hand to record the first pitch. And we have to admit, we're pretty impressed. Skip to 40 seconds to see his action.

Clearly the 27-time World Series champions were impressed and even tweeted their thanks to the Masters champion after the game.

While the Willetts enjoyed some family time in the Big Apple, Sergio Garcia was getting in some practice rounds at Baltusrol. Top five in the last two Majors, the Spaniard is hoping this extra putting practice will help his notch his first Major championship victory come Sunday.

Not content with just showing off his pace putting, Garcia also took to Instagram to show his tee shot at the signature fourth hole at Baltusrol.

It wasn't long before several players began to arrive at the course. All players that check in receive a money clip as identification. Here, Thorbjorn Olesen shows us all what they look like.

South Africa's Brandon Stone is making his PGA Championship debut this week and found himself two lockers away from the Open Champion when he arrived at the course.

The 23 year old managed to get some practice in whilst walking around with his dad and brother. One of the two was on camera duty, recording Brandon having his first go on the fourth tee.

Whilst Stone's tee shot stayed dry, the same can't be said for Martin Kaymer. The German was at home in Dusseldorf over the weekend but didn't let that stop him practicing by the lake.

Another player getting in some practice at home before traveling to the States was BMW PGA winner Chris Wood. The 28 year old was grinding on his short game with his coach the day before traveling.

Meanwhile, Wood's countryman Tyrrell Hatton posted this photo as he made the trip across the Atlantic. Fresh off his first Major top ten at Royal Troon, the 24 year snapped a sly photo of his girlfriend enjoying some champagne on the flight. Hatton will be hoping to save his glass of bubbly for Sunday night.

The celebrations didn't last long for Hatton however, who arrived in America without one key piece of luggage.

Matt Fitzpatrick has been in America for a few days ahead of the final Major of the season. Having missed the cut in Canada last week, the Nordea Masters winner spent some time in Chicago and even managed to squeeze in a Coldplay concert.

Two-time PGA Championship winner Rory McIlroy visited Quail Hollow over the weekend. The World Number Four has won on the course twice in his career and holds the course record, as shown by his tweet, so was clearly trying to channel some good memories ahead of this week.

However, McIlroy may be in for a surprise when he arrives at Baltusrol as Martin Kaymer's caddie showed.

Graeme McDowell has already managed to get a couple of practice rounds in and posted this photo of the famous Nicklaus plaque, 237 yards out on the par five closing hole.

A couple of other big names in the field this week took to social media to share a couple of new deliveries. Both Justin Rose and Henrik Stenson received their Olympic bags last week.

With his regular bag in play this week, Rose also shared a couple of snaps from his Monday practice round on Twitter.

Whilst many think it will be pretty hot in Rio in a couple of weeks, Ross Fisher showed that New Jersey is pretty toasty at this time of year as well. He shared this photo on Twitter as he drove to Baltusrol on Monday.

Another player on his way to the course was Rikard Karlberg. The Swede has some special company in the form of Open Champion Henrik Stenson as well as the Claret Jug in the back.

Last but certainly not least is Andrew Johnston. Known as "Beef" to nearly everyone in the world now, the Open de Espana champion signed one of the most perfectly suited endorsement deals in golf last week, signing a deal with Arby's, an American fast food restaurant.

Keep a look out for all the latest PGA Championship posts on social media throughout the week using the hashtag #PGAChamp.
