US Open and Ryder Cup hero, McDowell, and his charity, The GMac Foundation, have partnered Aer Lingus to bring recovering children - all cardiac patients of Our Ladies Children’s Hospital in Crumlin - and their families on this fantastic trip to Florida.

The G-Mac Foundation’s mission is to support children’s medical research in Northern Ireland, the Republic of Ireland and the United States. Working in conjunction with the leaders in children’s medical research and the main children’s hospitals in Dublin and Belfast, the Foundation will raise funds for much needed research in the area of children’s medicine.  A current campaign that Graeme is supporting is relates to the cardiac and cancer ward re-build efforts at Our Ladies Children’s Hospital in Crumlin.  For more information on the ‘Sick children are out of time’ campaign, please visithttp://www.fixcrumlin.ie.

Aer Lingus Director of Communications, Declan Kearney, said, “We were approached by Graeme and his team last year and had no hesitation in agreeing to partner with the G-Mac Foundation on providing these families with a trip of a lifetime. We look forward to hearing all about the trip on their return”.

Graeme McDowell, said, “I’m delighted that Aer Lingus were able to partner with my Foundation on this initiative. These children and their families have been through so much and we are honoured to be in a position to help them celebrate their recovery with a trip such as this.

"Aer Lingus have been great supporters of my Foundation and I'm delighted to have them on board.  To fly the children and their families out here for the few days is incredible and I am sure it is something they will never forget.  It is great to see the smiles on their faces, and hopefully we can continue to raise the funds needed to put smiles on the many others that need it the most.”

McDowell concluded: “I hope the children have a great holiday and I look forward to hearing some stories when I have dinner with them all on Friday at Disney World.  The G-Mac Foundation has got off to a great start and hopefully it continues in the same vain in the years to come.  Hopefully we can arrange many more trips like this one, and I would like to thank Aer Lingus once again for their incredible support.
