Before the new-look DP World Tour Play-Offs get under way, we take a look back at some of the numbers from a thrilling Back 9 on the Race to Dubai.

Nicolas Colsaerts produced a rare albatross – just the second all season – during the third round of the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship, holing his second shot from 233 yards on the par five 16th at Kingsbarns.

Billy Horschel became a two-time Rolex Series winner by conquering the West Course at Wentworth Club to claim the BMW PGA Championship title for a second time, three years after the first. 

Two shots was the biggest margin of victory in the Back 9, achieved by Niklas Nørgaard at the Betfred British Masters hosted by Sir Nick Faldo.

The number of first-time winners during the nine-week stretch, with Niklas Nørgaard, Angel Hidalgo and Julien Guerrier all entering the DP World Tour winner’s circle.

There were five events which required play-offs to determine the winner, with the Betfred British Masters hosted by Sir Nick Faldo, Omega European Masters, BMW PGA Championship, acciona Open de España presented by Madrid, Estrella Damm N.A. Andalucía Masters and Genesis Championship all going beyond the regulation 72 holes. 

Angel Hidalgo and Callum Shinkwin made the fewest number of three putts, with the Spaniard doing so over 27 rounds - seven more than his English counterpart.

Matt Wallace ended a six-year wait for his fifth DP World Tour title with victory at the Omega European Masters in Switzerland. 

The number of different nationalities to win an event in the nine-week stretch, with the most being from England (3).

The number of holes in one during the Back 9, with Todd Clements, Hurly Long, Jeff Winther, Jens Fahrbring, Andrew Wilson, Danny Willett and Ugo Coussaud all producing a moment of perfection. 

The number of countries visited during the Back 9, with two events each held in England and Spain.

The number of holes in the play-off between Julien Guerrier and Jorge Campillo at the Estrella Damm N.A. Andalucía Masters, matching the record for the longest on the DP World Tour.

There were nine players to feature in all nine events of the Back 9 (James Morrison, Daan Huizing, Matthew Southgate, Eddie Pepperell, Clément Sordet, Yannik Paul, Santiago Tarrio, Chase Hanna and Gunner Wiebe).

The number of top-ten finishes achieved on the Back 9 by Rasmus Højgaard, Matteo Manassero and Jon Rahm, the most among players.

Rasmus Højgaard was the youngest player to win an event in the Back 9, becoming the youngest player since José María Olazábal in 1989 to collect five wins on the DP World Tour.
