Super Swede Stenson claims November SOTM crown

Fresh off the back of his successful defence at the DP World Tour Championship, Dubai, for the second month running Henrik Stenson has been voted by fans as having hit the European Tour Shot of the Month after picking up the November gong.

En route to his victorious 16 under par total after four rounds on the Jumeirah Golf Estates’ Earth Course, the 39 year old Swede hit a pin-point approach to his penultimate hole of the season, to set up a crucial birdie two at the 17th that helped secure a two-stroke victory.

Up against nine other impressive efforts from the same period, Stenson’s wonder effort earned him 33 per cent of the My European Tour vote, with the next best being the first professional hole in one of Shane Lowry’s career, which got 18 per cent.

Also teeing it up in the season-ending event in Dubai, the Irishman showed his own flair for the spectacular, as his approach at the par three 13th hole found the cup.

Meanwhile in third place, and taking 11 per cent of the public vote, was Brooks Koepka’s powerful hybrid approach to the par five 13th hole that set up a crucial eagle on his way to a maiden title at the Turkish Airlines Open presented by the Ministry of Youth and Sports.

One lucky fan who chose Stenson’s effort as the best from November will earn themselves a brand new Titleist 915 driver and a hat signed by European Tour Rookie of the Year Koepka.

Stay tuned in the coming days too as we launch our highly anticipated Shot of the Year competition, where each monthly winner from 2014 will go head to head to win the top prize.

Joining Stenson in the end of year poll are Charl Schwartzel (January), Victor Dubuisson (February), Miguel Ángel Jiménez (March), Danny Willett (April), Rory McIlroy (May), Robert Rock (June), Sergio Garcia (July), and Jamie Donaldson (August and September).

One lucky fan will also win themselves a fantastic end of season haul, courtesy of our European Tour Properties Network, if they pick the winning effort from what was another thrilling season.
