Sullivan raring to go in Prague

Andy Sullivan feels refreshed and ready to win again as he looks to seal his place in the Ryder Cup team at the D+D REAL Czech Masters.

The Englishman has had a two-week break since finishing in a tie for 49th at the US PGA Championship, that result coming after a run of six consecutive top 25 results.

Those included top tens at the 100th Open de France and Aberdeen Asset Management Scottish Open in an excellent run of summer form that put Sullivan in the box seat for a place in Darren Clarke's team for Hazeltine.

The 29 year old currently holds the eighth of nine spots as qualification comes to a head at next week's Made in Denmark, and he is hopeful of claiming his first win of the season to put the issue to bed before then.

"I haven't been in Prague for a couple of years now so it's nice to be back to a bit of normality this week after being out in the States playing the Majors," he said.

It's nice to be back in Europe to familiarity and hopefully I can get another win by the end of the week - Andy Sullivan

"I think with this event being the second last counting event for Ryder Cup points puts a massive emphasis on the week, that's why you see so many guys out here trying to give Captain Clarke as many problems as possible, and it's also nice to be in such a beautiful city as Prague.

"I'm approaching this week like any other – I want to go out there and win. I feel like the last six weeks I've played I played really well but just ran out of steam in the US PGA Championship but I took two weeks off, the game feels good and solid, and hopefully I can continue the form I had going earlier in the summer.

"For me, The Ryder Cup is massive so to give myself the opportunity I have now I really want to out and finish it off. It means a hell of a lot to go out and represent your continent, it's going to be massive so hopefully I can get the job done this week and relax after that without having to think about it."

Sullivan finished in a tie for 52nd in his first appearance at Albatross Golf Resort in 2014, and is looking forward to taking on the layout again with the addition of water to three holes.

"I played the course a couple of years ago and there have been a couple of changes, but even back then I thought it was a good golf course," he said. "The finish is really good and Thomas (Pieters) did really well last year to win it with a really solid finish, so I'm just glad to be back in Europe to get myself back in the mix."
