Storm aims to stay clear

Graeme Storm was looking to maintain his faultless form in the KLM Open as the leaders began their penultimate rounds at Hilversumsche GC.

Storm, 114th in The Race to Dubai and eager to secure his European Tour card for 2013, boasted a three shot advantage this morning, having kept a bogey off his card en route to impressive scores of 63 and 66 over the first two days.

Peter Hanson was among three players in second at eight under, together with Gonzalo Fernandez-Castaño and Scott Jamieson.

Two of Hanson’s Ryder Cup team-mates, Nicolas Colsaerts and Martin Kaymer, were also in contention at five and four under respectively, although they knew early birdies were necessary if they were to mount a serious challenge on the final day.

Conditions appeared perfect for low scoring on a calm day in the Netherlands.
