After a dramatic day on Thursday which saw Tom Lewis get to the brink of the first 59 in European Tour history before three late bogeys, conditions were once again favourable in Farsø.

Those conditions allowed Lewis, Thomas Pieters and Joakim Lagergren to all tie the course record of 62 to get to nine under, and Lewis picked up a shot in his first eight holes on Friday to move to the top of the leaderboard.

South Africa's Sterne was the man making the big move, however, picking up birdies on the first and fourth and an eagle on the sixth to move alongside Lagergren and Pieters - who were both among the afternoon starters.

Englishman Lewis could not maintain the blistering pace he had set on day one but he picked up shots on the third and sixth before giving one back on the seventh.

Sterne then dropped his first shot of the day on the seventh to drop to eight under alongside another of the afternoon starters, Bradley Dredge.

Swede Kristoffer Broberg was the man who saw his record equalled on Thursday and he looked inspired as he picked up four shots in is first 11 holes to get to six under.

Thomas Aiken was three under for the day through 14 to also sit at six under, alongside countryman Jake Roos, who was level par for the day.

There were then seven players at five under, including Oliver Wilson picking up four shots in ten holes.
