Spanish duo set the pace in South Korea

Spanish pair Pablo Larrazábal and José Manuel Lara were part of a four-way tie for the lead midway through a turbulent third round at the Ballantine’s Championship.

After delays on the first two days, half the field had to complete their second rounds first thing this morning at Blackstone Golf Club, and by the conclusion Lara and Kiradech Aphibarnrat had joined Wade Ormsby and Arnond Vongvanij in the lead on seven under par.

When the third round began, the number of leaders on that mark briefly swelled to ten – but the likes of World Number Seven Louis Oosthuizen and recent Maybank Malaysian Open winner Aphibarnrat slipped back in testing conditions.

As the final groups turned for home the leading mark was still seven under – with Larrazábal and Lara joined by Australia’s 2010 winner Marcus Fraser and Scot Pete Whiteford.

Ormsby, Scot Stephen Gallacher and Swede Alex Noren were all one behind on six under.
