Sky Deutschland extends European Tour agreement

Sky Deutschland, the German pay-television operator, this week signed a new rights deal with The European Tour that includes rights to the next two editions of The Ryder Cup.

The broadcaster, which covers Germany and Austria, has renewed its current deal with European Tour Productions - the Tour's broadcast arm and a joint venture between IMG Media and The European Tour - until 2018.

In addition to The 2016 Ryder Cup in Minnesota and the 2018 edition at Le Golf National in Paris, Sky Deutschland will continue to broadcast all regular European Tour tournaments plus all four World Golf Championships events.

The agreeeent, which covers live distribution via television, internet, IPTV and mobile, also includes non-co-sanctioned Asian Tour and Sunshine Tour tournaments as well as highlights of the European Senior Tour and European Challenge Tour events.

With the Race to Dubai, the World Golf Championships and The Ryder Cup, Sky remains the destination for golf in Germany and Austria.”
