Skandia returns to Woburn

Skandia has extended its association with the European Senior Tour by returning as a Partner Sponsor of the Travis Perkins plc Senior Masters for a second consecutive year.

The leading long-term investment company will again hold a Pro-Am competition for key Financial Advisers shortly prior to the tournament, which will be held at Woburn Golf Club, from September 3-5. It will also have a presence during the tournament itself through on-course advertising, as well as an exhibition in the tented village, to support its consumer brand-building activity.

Skandia was an Official Sponsor of The 2009 Senior Open Championship presented by MasterCard at Sunningdale Golf Club last July – its first foray into golf sponsorship – before becoming a Partner Sponsor of the Travis Perkins plc Senior Masters last September.

Jo Gilbey, Senior Campaigns Manager at Skandia, said:  “We were delighted by the feedback from financial advisers who attended the tournament last year, and the reaction from the public who came along to the event and had the opportunity to find out a bit more about Skandia.  We look forward to an equally rewarding experience this year.”

Andy Stubbs, Managing Director of the European Senior Tour, said: “We are delighted to have secured the ongoing support of Skandia for the Travis Perkins plc Senior Masters, which is one of the leading events on the Senior Tour schedule. Last year we had record crowds at Woburn and it is with great anticipation that we look forward to this year’s event.”

Zimbabwe’s Tony Johnstone is the defending Travis Perkins plc Senior Masters champion after capturing his second Senior Tour title with a one stroke victory over Australian Peter Senior over the Duke’s Course last September.
