England's Peter Scott is one of five golfers who have secured their place at the 2018 Shipco Masters promoted by Simon's Golf after winning a 36-hole qualifying tournament held in Denmark.

Scott, who finished the first round level par, carded the best round of the day at Simon's Golf Club to sign for a one over par total.

"It was tough out there," said Scott. "The conditions were the worst I've played in for a very long time, but the course was fantastic and in great condition.

"This is a magnificent golf course. We all appreciate that Simon's Golf Club hosted a qualifying tournament for this event."

Peter Wilson, who made his Staysure Tour debut in 2017, finished second on five over par, one stroke ahead of Denmark's Søren Telling and England's Mark Wharton who shared third place.

"It was a great experience to play in the qualifier, and I'm very happy that I did so well under these difficult circumstances," said Telling. "I'm really looking forward to playing in the Shipco Masters. I can't believe I made it."

A four-man play-off was required to determine the final spot at the June tournament, and England's Nicholas Mitchell triumphed on the third extra hole to join the 60-person field.
