Sciot-Siegrist eyes victory at Vesterby Links

Robin Sciot-Siegrist is targeting his second Challenge Tour title as he prepares to tee it up in the Indoor Golf Group Challenge at Landeryds Golfklubb – Vesterby Links this week.

The Frenchman, who claimed his maiden title at the 2017 Galgorm Resort & Spa Northern Ireland Open presented by Modest! Golf, arrives in Sweden in excellent form, having secured three successive top-ten finishes on the 2024 Road to Mallorca.

He credits his recent success to improved performance off the tee and is eager to maintain that momentum as he pursues another Challenge Tour victory this week.

“I feel good with the way I’m playing,” he said. “It’s trending in the right direction and a lot of things are going well at the moment.

“I’ve always been quite a good iron player, but I’ve struggled with my driver since last season. I’ve worked on it recently and now I’m driving the ball well – I just need to keep up that momentum.

“Of course I’m looking to win [this week], but I also know that a top three finish is where you start to really put some points on the board.”

Sciot-Siegrist currently sits 24th on the Road to Mallorca Rankings with ten events remaining this season and the 30-year-old, who earned promotion to the DP World Tour in 2022 through the Challenge Tour, is determined to use his experience to secure a return to golf’s Global Tour.

“Obviously I want to get back to the DP World Tour,” he said. “I’m 24th in the Rankings right now, but I feel like I’m only halfway to getting into the top 20. I’m close, but I’m also not that close.

“I was injured all winter and then I had a period when I wasn’t playing well, which was quite difficult. But now I’m playing well and heading towards the top 20, I need to use that momentum to go for it.

“Experience is always an advantage, so it’s a good thing to have. Maybe it’s an edge compared to the guys who haven’t experienced that, and I’ll be better at reacting to stress in these events.”

Sciot-Siegrist is part of a strong French contingent at the Indoor Golf Group Challenge that includes DP World Tour winners Alexander Levy and Julian Quesne. Joining them in the field are a trio of Swedish winners on the 2024 Road to Mallorca in Björn Åkesson, Mikael Lindberg, and Joakim Lagergren.

The first round of the Indoor Group Golf Challenge gets under way at 7:30am local time on Thursday, with Sciot-Siegrist teeing off alongside compatriot Félix Mory and Englishman Jack Senior at 1:40pm.
