Scholtès to sponsor the Grand Final

The leading high-end kitchen appliance brand Scholtès has been named the main sponsor of this year’s Apulia San Domenico Grand Final, the final event of the European Challenge Tour season which takes place next week at San Domenico Golf in Puglia, Italy.

The sponsorship deal coincides with the company’s existing agreement with young Italian golfing sensation Matteo Manassero, who currently wears the Scholtès logo on his clothing.

S3 lines such as the Multiplo, the Teppanyaki and the Big Capacity oven – together with the creative genius of Michelin star chef Andrea Ribaldone, famed for his traditional/avant-garde experimentation – will be the main features of the two exclusive live cooking sessions, which guests can enjoy at the stunning San Domenico Golf.

The game of golf and the Scholtès brand, formed in 1922, are natural partners, with both based on precision, attention to detail and the use of cutting edge technology to improve performance.

Marco Rota, Brand Marketing Director of Scholtès, said: “We are extremely pleased to support the Apulia San Domenico Grand Final at San Domenico Golf. For Scholtès it is the start of an exciting new venture in the world of golf, a sport in which players require dedication, passion and a strong drive for excellence in order to succeed – qualities which are well represented in both our brand’s DNA and in our product range. San Domenico Golf is the perfect location to celebrate our entrance into this exciting and highly competitive world.”

Sergio Melpignano, owner of San Domenico Golf, said: “It is a great honour to host the Apulia San Domenico Grand Final for the sixth year in a row, and this year the partnership with Scholtès will add a culinary twist to this fantastic tournament.”

Alain de Soultrait, Director of the Challenge Tour, said: “We are very grateful to Scholtès for their support of the Apulia San Domenico Grand Final. Their sponsorship of this prestigious tournament and also of Matteo Manassero, one of the most exciting prospects in world golf, is testament to their commitment to the game’s development.”

The €300,000 Apulia San Domenico Grand Final, which is celebrating its 16th edition, has been nominated as the European Challenge Tour’s Flagship Event, meaning the winner of this year’s tournament will receive a minimum of 16 Official World Golf Ranking points for the first time in Challenge Tour history.

Previous winners include Ireland’s Peter Lawrie (2002) and Sweden’s Henrik Stenson (2000), whilst more recently the likes of Argentina’s Tano Goya (2008), France’s Michael Lorenzo-Vera (2007) and Scotland’s Peter Whiteford (2009) have all lifted the trophy.
