A new irrigation and drainage system, as well as improved bunkers and lake edging, will ensure that L’Albatros retains its status as a world class golf course for many years to come.

Le Golf National, a European Tour Destination, is consistently ranked in the World’s Top 100 and Europe’s Top Ten by Golf World (UK) magazine for its impressive stadium design, with slick greens and vast undulating fairways dotted with water hazards and innumerable links-style bunkers.

Golfers of all abilities are now invited to experience the Parisian facility for themselves and see first-hand what the European Tour professionals will face this summer, as well as Team Europe and Team USA in two years’ time when golf’s greatest team event lands on French soil.

David MacLaren, Director of Property and Venue Development at the European Tour, said: “The developments carried out at Le Golf National should excite all golfers, not just the professionals, as it is now open for anyone to come and try for themselves.

“The excellent work will ensure that l’Albatros remains at its absolute finest in the coming years, when it is set to be at the forefront of the golfing world.

“Le Golf National is one of the jewels in the European Tour Properties crown and we must applaud Paul Armitage and his team for their efforts in this project, and for their commitment to maintaining and improving an already-world class facility.”

Paul Armitage, General Manager at Le Golf National, said: “We are extremely happy to open up the Albatros course once again. After ten months, we know our regular golfers have missed it tremendously, our international guests bookings are already high, and all the staff are ready to get back into action.

“The course looks great now and will be fully back to its outstanding standards as spring continues to help grow in the massive changes.

“I have to congratulate Alejandro Reyes, our superintendent, and all of his team for their dedicated hard work over the past ten months, and I must also thank all of the companies who have done a marvelous job on budget and on time.

“The course is going to be in great condition for the 100thOpen de France and, with the quality field this year, it will be a great way to start the two year countdown to the 2018 Ryder Cup at Le Golf National”

There is additional Ryder Cup interest at Le Golf National this year with the 100thOpen de France carrying enhanced Ryder Cup points ahead of the 2016 contest at Hazeltine National Golf Club in Minnesota.

Last week, four-time Major Champion Rory McIlroy confirmed he would be teeing it up in Paris to see the new course developments for himself, as will defending champion Bernd Wiesberger.
