REWIND: Rose clinches back-to-back wins

Justin Rose birdied the last at the Turkish Airlines Open to make it back-to-back wins and blow the race to win the end-of-season title wide open.

The Rolex Series events brought high drama to the European Tour all season and it was no different at Regnum Carya Golf & Spa Resort as Rose and playing partner Nicolas Colsaerts were tied at 17 under stood on the 18th tee.

Both men put their approaches to eight feet, but it was Rose who held his nerve to make a birdie, sign for a 65 and claim a tenth European Tour title to heap the pressure on fellow Englishman Fleetwood heading into the final two events of the season.

Rose, who had won the WGC-HSBC Champions the week before, leapfrogged Sergio Garcia into second in the Rankings and closed the gap at the top to just 134,839 points. Ultimately Fleetwood would win the Rankings to stop Rose claiming the top prize for the second time.

The win in Turkey made Rose just the third player to win a World Golf Championships event and then win the following week after Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy.

"Every win is different and you never get tired of it," said Rose.

"They challenge you in different ways, so you're learning almost a new skill every time you win. To hit shots when you have to on the last hole is very rewarding.

"You didn't really know where the winner was going to come from with about five or six holes to play. I just happened to make one more birdie than the rest of them, but all the boys played really well coming down the stretch."
