Refreshed Morrison ready to go

“I’ve had a nice rest after America,” he said. “It took me a few days to get over it, in terms of walking the course. It was a demanding course in that sense, and it was hot. So physically and mentally it was tough, but a great week and I’m feeling refreshed now and ready to give it a go again.

“Playing in Major Championships is brilliant. It’s where every player wants to be every year. It was a great experience with the crowds at Whistling Straits. I thought it was a very different crowd to say an Open Championship. It was almost like being at a football match. I played with Sergio Garcia on the Saturday and it was like being at Stamford Bridge. It was very raucous and loud. So you embrace it and enjoy it, which is what I did.

“So it was a great and it is nice to have a week off, re-energise and come back here this week. Every event you play in is a chance to win, and a chance to get better. I love playing golf and competing. To me, this week is about coming back somewhere you love, and you like playing. The course is great, Prague is a lovely city and after the week off, I’m buzzing to get going again.”

Morrison started the year 361st on the Official World Golf Ranking, but following a superb year to date he is up to 82nd, as well as 20th position on The Race to Dubai. Victory in the Czech Republic would mean further gains on both lists, but Morrison is eager to keep improving.

“Confidence is high with the way I have been playing, but I’ve been playing well for a couple of years now,” he said. “Everything is coming together well and I’ve found my recipe to play well. I’m getting better physically and mentally. I just want to keep playing well. It’s not about keeping the year going, it is about trying to play well for the next ten years and improving. I’m coming here with my game plan, and hopefully I will continue to make progress.”
