American Ryder Cup star Patrick Reed is set to make his first appearance on European soil in 2015 by competing in the BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth Club for the first time.
Reed, currently ranked 14th in the Official World Golf Ranking, is one of golf’s rising stars having recently become only the fourth player in the past 20 years (after Tiger Woods, Sergio Garcia and Rory McIlroy) to win four PGA Tour titles before the age of 25.
The 24 year old Texan became a member of The European Tour at the start of the year and is looking forward to competing in the Tour’s flagship event over the West Course at Wentworth Club.
Reed’s will bring a tough competitive spirit to the BMW PGA Championship, adding further quality to the field which includes defending champion and World Number One, Rory McIlroy, and last week’s Masters Tournament runner-up, Justin Rose.
He collected 3 ½ points out of four in last year’s Ryder Cup – 2 ½ of them in the company of new Masters champion, Jordan Spieth – before returning to the UK to reach the quarter-finals of the World Match Play Championship at the London Club in October.

Reed will face at least nine of the victorious European team which defeated the USA at last year’s Ryder Cup when he tees up at Wentworth where he will bid to become the first American winner in the prestigious title’s illustrious history.
McIlroy is set to defend the title he won in such dramatic fashion with a brilliant final round 66 over the West Course.
