Record entries Senior Open qualifying

A record 419 players will today compete for the chance to join some of the legends of the game in this week’s Senior Open Championship Presented by Rolex, which starts at Sunningdale Golf Club on Thursday.

Four courses - Berkshire Golf Club, Burhill Golf Club, Camberley Heath Golf Club and Foxhills – are hosting the qualifying event, with 33 spaces available in the field for the 29th edition of the Senior Open.

They will be hoping to join the 111 exempt players in the world class field that includes defending champion Bernhard Langer, Sir Nick Faldo, Miguel Angel Jiménez, Tom Watson and Colin Montgomerie, the 2014 European Senior Tour Number One.
