The Royal Spanish Golf Federation and Reale Seguros Insurance Company have renewed their collaboration agreement for the sponsorship by Reale Seguros of the Open de España for 2012, 2013 and 2014.
Following the agreement, The European Tour event will be officially called Reale Seguros Open de España with the 2012 edition set to take place at RCG de Sevilla on May 3-6.
Gonzaga Escauriaza, President of the Royal Spanish Golf Federation and Luigi Lana, Chief Executive Officer at Reale Seguros, have signed an agreement according to which Reale will provide an annual contribution of 1.55 million euro during this three-year term.
By doing so, the signatories have extended the 2006 agreement, which marked the beginning of Reale Seguros’ commitment with golf, when the company first took on the sponsorship of the RSGF and the Open de España.
Besides its outstanding presence before, during and after the Reale Seguros Open de España, the company will go on supporting other initiatives promoted by the Federation, thus ensuring its on-going involvement with the game of golf.
Reale Seguros have made a longstanding effort to develop home-grown talent through its direct support of the RSGF Junior Committee.
Reale seguros is also actively involved with adaptive golf. The Reale Seguros Foundation seeks to make the game of golf accessible to people with disabilities through 34 Adaptive Golf Schools already in operation across the whole of Spain, in collaboration with the National Sports Council.
In addition, Reale Seguros offers specific products for golfers, as a means of providing added value to federation affiliates through the Sponsors Club and the Affiliates Club. This initiative is promoted by Reale Seguros together with other leading companies in their respective industries.
When signing the agreement, Reale Seguros Generales CEO Luigi Lana said: “Our strong commitment to the game of golf goes far beyond sponsorship. Our company shares many values with the Open de España and with the world of golf in general.

In turn Gonzaga Escauriaza, President of the RSGF, said: “This renewed agreement is a big step towards updating and improving our services to our affiliates. In the particular case of the Reale Seguros Open de España, it will enable us to consolidate the event on The European Tour International Schedule. The RSGF wishes to express its deepest gratitude to Reale Seguros for all these years of fruitful relationship and for its invaluable contribution to the development of the game”.
