Jon Rahm believes he is edging closer to winning a Major after a closing 68 saw him finish in a tie for fourth at the US PGA Championship.
That the Spaniard has the game to win one of golf's big four events has never been in doubt, with two Rolex Series victories and a win in his home Open in the past 13 months on the European Tour.
With a rise so meteoric, it is easy to forget the World Number Five only turned professional in 2016, but his excellent week at Bellerive Country Club comes hot on the heels of a top five finish at the Masters Tournament in the spring.
Rahm's fiery temperament on the golf course has won him many fans but also some critics, although he believes the mental side of his game is getting better all the time.
"I feel great," he said. "Top four in a Major, it's the second one of the year, I would have taken that.
"I think that this week was a huge milestone and when it comes to my mental aspect of the game, it was a thousand per cent better than what it's been in the past.
"Hopefully I can keep working, improving on it and become a much better role model than I've been until now, which is one of the main goals for this week and it's a goal of mine in my career. It's just started, but I hope that my performance in tournaments and good behaviour just keeps going and I always want to win a tournament."
Francesco Molinari finished a shot behind Rahm after closing with a bogey-free 67 as he continues his remarkable run of form.
His maiden Major triumph at the Open Championship last month followed a win at the BMW PGA Championship and a victory on the US PGA Tour.
The Italian was disappointed with a tie for 39th at last week's WGC-Bridgestone Invitational, and was happy to finish in the top ten at the year's final Major for the second season in a row.
"It's been a decent week," he said. "Obviously a few shots short but after last week the main thing was getting back to playing good golf and I've done that this week.
"Today, unfortunately, I didn't make enough putts in the first five, six, seven holes to really make a run at it. But I kept going and played a clean, nice round of golf. I'm happy with the week."
Thomas Pieters was alongside Molinari at ten under as he starts to recover some of the form that has made him a three-time European Tour winner.
The Belgian has not been at his brilliant best this campaign but was just a shot off the lead in St Louis before he found water twice on the 17th to surrender a double-bogey.
"I played really well," he said. "I'm happy with the week.
"Obviously it's a tough one to take but then again I've had a very, very rough year and a half and it's nice to play some good golf now. So I'm quite happy.
"It's just nice to contend. I had a feeling like I could win this if I put up something nice and I haven't had that feeling in any tournament. It's nice to do it here."
