Quiros and Warren set clubhouse target at Valderrama

Local favourite Alvaro Quiros and Scot Marc Warren set the early clubhouse target on four under par after another weather delay hit the Andalucía Valderrama Masters hosted by the Sergio Garcia Foundation on Saturday.

Play was suspended again at Valderrama on Saturday

With around half of the field - including leader Ashley Chesters - still to get their second rounds under way on day three, tournament director José Maria Zamora announced 72 holes would no longer be possible after 32 more minutes of action were lost due to more bad weather in the morning at Real Club Valderrama.

Spaniard Quiros and three-time European Tour winner Warren both had nine holes of their second rounds remaining when the fourth weather delay of the week forced play to be abandoned for the night on Friday.

Both men made good progress early on Saturday morning, with Warren mixing three birdies with two bogeys to join Chesters on five under and Quiros making a birdie at the fourth to get to four under before play was suspended due to further inclement weather.

When the second round resumed at 11.40am local time, Warren dropped a shot at the eighth before safely parring the ninth - his last - to sign for a second-successive 69.

Quiros then parred his way home to join Warren on four under par. Frenchman Grégory Bourdy was alongside them in a tie for second before he had started his second round.
