Downfield Golf Club, Monifieth Links, and Panmure Golf Club will host the 18 hole qualifying event where non-exempt players will attempt to join illustrious names such as Sir Nick Faldo, Bernhard Langer, Sam Torrance and Tom Watson in the field at Carnoustie.

Among those teeing it up at Donwfield will be Argentine Luis Carbonetti, a two-time winner on the European Senior Tour, who finished tied ninth in the Van Lanschot Senior Open.

At Monifieth Links the hopefuls will include Australian Graham Bannister, who finished sixth in the recent Matrix Jersey Classic, and Amerian Kirk Hanefield who progressed through qualifying last year to gain a place in the field at Sunningdale, where he posted a hole in one in the Championship.

Former European Tour winner Stephen Bennett, of England, and World Cup winner Torsten Giedeon of Germany, will be among 91 players competing at Panmure Golf Club.

All of the non-exempt player will be hoping to take inspiration from American Pete Oakley who came through Qualifying for The 2004 Senior Open Championship and went on to win the title at Royal Portrush in Northern Ireland.
