Joël Stalter finished top of the pile in the 36-hole qualifier at Exclusiv Golf Courson-Stade Français in south-west Paris with a seven under par total, ensuring he will head to Le Golf National for the €3million event from July 2-5.

Behind him were Challenge Tour player Julien Grillon, club professional Mickaël Altmeyer and French Tour regular Fabien Marty, while Englishman Craig Farrelly also grabbed a place.

At Exclusiv Golf Apremont, north of the capital, the four available spots were filled by Frenchmen. Alps Tour player Damien Perrier won the event with a five under par total, with Anthony Grenier and Alex Kaleka sharing third and Jean-Pierre Verselin claiming the final ticket after beating amateur Hubert Tisserand in a play-off.

The qualifiers will join a star-studded field at Le Golf National, the host venue for The 2018 Ryder Cup, with Graeme McDowell aiming to make it three Alstom Open de France titles in a row and Martin Kaymer, Lee Westwood, Victor Dubuisson and Thomas Bjørn all in attendance.
