Cormac Sharvin was one of only three graduates to lock down a European Tour card without tasting victory in 2019, which highlights the consistency of the Irishman’s performance throughout the year.

The Dublin resident amassed eight top ten finishes in 19 starts to earn a rookie season on the European Tour thanks in large part to his six top fives.

Sharvin only missed four cuts on the 2019 Road to Mallorca, two of which came in the first two events of the season, before he kickstarted his campaign with back-to-back top ten finishes.

His best finish of the season came at the prestigious Rolex Trophy, where a final round 64 earned him a solo-second place finish. After that runner-up showing at Golf Club de Geneve, Sharvin was on the cusp of securing his European Tour card and another top five at the 57° Open de Portugal @ Morgado Golf Resort in his next Challenge Tour start sealed his future – according to the man himself.

He holed the final putt of his closing 72 and subsequently explained that he believed he had an unassailable buffer inside the top 15, which proved to be correct after finishing in 11th place on the Road to Mallorca Rankings.

Much like his fellow graduates Francesco Laporta and Calum Hill, Sharvin also earned the distinction of finishing his home Rolex Series event as the leading national player when he claimed a share of 15th at the Dubai Duty Free Irish Open this summer— beating the likes of Open Champion Shane Lowry and Ryder Cup Captain Padraig Harrington.
