Golfers once again have the chance to experience the unique atmosphere of the Senior Tour, with Pro-Am entries open for this year’s Prostate Cancer UK Scottish Senior Open at Archerfield Links, on Scotland’s Golf Coast.
The tournament marks the continuation of the partnership between the European Senior Tour and Prostate Cancer UK, which returns as the title sponsor of the Scottish Senior Open following the success of last year’s event.
With men over 50 being more at risk of developing prostate cancer, the association is a natural one for raising awareness among Senior Tour players – who fall in the higher risk age band – and their fans.
The Prostate Cancer UK Scottish Senior Open, taking place once again at Archerfield Links from August 19-21, 2016, will receive continued support from VisitScotland and East Lothian Council and will again use the exciting and fun Pro-Am format, where amateurs play alongside the professionals for the first two days of the three-round event.

Last year Broadhurst, playing in his first event since turning 50 and joining the Senior Tour ranks, edged out Gordon Manson on the second hole of a play-off, the victory setting up a breakthrough season for the Englishman which culminated in him being named Rookie of the Year.
In the Pro-Am, cricket legend Ian Botham fired a closing round of 62 with professional playing partner Gordon Brand Jnr to finish just three shots behind winner William Swann, while other famous faces on the leaderboard included footballer Ray Clemence and former Scottish First Minister Alex Salmond.
Packages for the Pro-Am are available now, with options including individual spots in the Thursday team Pro-Am as well as the Friday and Saturday Alliance competition, plus a variety of accommodation choices.
