Julien Brun secured two Challenge Tour victories in 2021 as he earned graduation to the DP World Tour with a fourth place finish on the Road to Mallorca Rankings.
The Frenchman kick-started his campaign with a tie for second at the D+D REAL Czech Challenge as Road to Mallorca Number Three Santiago Tarrio came out on top in the three-way play-off, before picking up his first victory of the season on home soil at the Open de Bretagne.
The 29-year-old’s win at Golf Bluegreen de Pléneuf Val André ended a nine-year drought, with his last Challenge Tour title coming as an amateur at the 2012 Allianz Golf Open Toulouse Metropole, and the triumph lit the spark for further success.
Brun recorded a seventh place finish at the Hopps Open de Provence, a tie for fifth at the Swiss Challenge before his second victory of the season came at the Empordà Challenge where he finished one-stroke ahead of Englishman Jonathan Thomson.
Now a three-time Challenge Tour winner, Brun took that momentum into the season-ending Rolex Challenge Tour Grand Final supported by The R&A and finished in a tie for second, just one-shot back from Road to Mallorca Number One Marcus Helligkilde.
The Frenchman began his DP World Tour season with a tie for 12th at the Joburg Open as the tournament was reduced to 36 holes due to the emergence of a new COVID-19 variant and weather delays.
