Play to resume shortly after fog

Play was due to restart at 9.40am local time (1540BST) after more fog meant another delay in the US PGA Championship at Whistling Straits in Wisconsin.

Over three hours was lost on the opening morning, but it did not look as though the hold-up was going to be as long this time.

The first round had been scheduled to resume at 7am with South African Ernie Els and Americans Matt Kuchar and Nick Watney tied on four under par with clubhouse leaders Francesco Molinari and Bubba Watson.

Els and Kuchar still had four holes to complete, while Watney, whose opening day finished with an eagle three on the long 11th, faced the prospect of 25 holes as the tournament tried to get back on track.

England's Simon Khan, already with the BMW PGA Championship trophy bearing his name, was on only the eighth hole of his first round, but at three under he had a real chance to make his presence felt.

Northern Irishman Darren Clarke was alongside him, but had a 30 foot par putt on the 14th coming up.
