Amateur golfers have the rare opportunity to compete alongside former Ryder Cup stars and golfing legends when the European Tour Destinations Senior Classic gets underway at PGA Catalunya Resort from July 12-14.
Winning captain at the 2014 Ryder Cup Paul McGinley, former World Number One Ian Woosnam and six-time European Tour winner Thomas Levet, are all set to tee it up in the third edition of the tournament, which heads to Spain for the first time after visits to Finland’s Linna Golf Club in 2017 and Lighthouse Golf and Spa Resort, Bulgaria, in 2018.
The Staysure Tour’s popular Alliance format provides amateur golfers with the unique chance to play alongside their golfing heroes, who are renowned as much for their company as for their superb golf, all while experiencing one of Europe’s best golf courses, PGA Catalunya.
The Pro-Am and Alliance events offer two distinctive opportunities for amateurs to play alongside the legends of the game, with packages available to take part in the Pro-Am event leading up to the tournament and in the first two rounds of the championship itself.
A three-time host to the Open de España and the setting for European Tour Qualifying School Final Stage for nine consecutive years until 2016, the event will form part of the Stadium Course at PGA Catalunya’s 20th-year celebrations.
