Thomas Pieters held a one shot lead over the chasing pack during the final round of the KLM Open.
The Belgian, who claimed his maiden European Tour title at the D+D REAL Czech Masters two weeks ago, started the day two strokes behind overnight leaders Rafael Cabrera-Bello and Lee Slattery but fired back-to-back birdies at the second and third holes to climb up the leaderboard.
Pieters then picked up another shot at the sixth to join Slattery at the top of the pile on 17 under par, before rolling in his close range birdie putt at the next to take the outright lead.
The 23 year old safely parred the next two holes to reach the turn in 32 before increasing his lead with another birdie at the tenth.
But after missing his ten foot par putt at the 11th, Pieters dropped back to 18 under to hold a one stroke lead with seven holes left to play.
Slattery, the winner of last week's M2M Russian Open, covered his front nine in 35 to sit on 17 under at the turn.
The Englishman made a strong start to his fourth round, notching a birdie at the second before carding seven straight pars - including a clutch ten foot putt at the ninth - to keep up the pressure on Pieters.
Fabrizio Zanotti set the clubhouse lead on 17 under par after mixing five birdies with an eagle on Sunday.
The Paraguayan fired three birdies on his front nine before chipping in for an eagle at the 12th.
Zanotti then made further gains at the 14th and 16th before parring the final two holes to card a closing 63.
Spain's Eduardo de la Riva carded seven birdies and a solitary bogey in his first 15 holes to move to 17 under with three holes left to play.
